A war we must face

General, Virtues
I need to confess that I am not doing enough to protect my values, at least some of them. They are being trampled, twisted, or diminished by the incessant attack from groups that profess other worldly values, none of which reflects my beliefs and my philosophy of life. We have to be, absolutely, very firm and well planted so as not to be influenced by their disguised message of openness, acceptance, and flexibility because “the world is changing and maturing”. To add to it, that message is not said softly; it is unreserved, aggressive and very vocal.
I am sure many of us will say that we really do stand for our values.
But, are we doing enough?
For example, we value a society integrated by families composed by a man and a woman, living together with their children… just as God has created them. But, on the other hand, we let groups promoting the joining of two men or two women to form families -knowing that it is impossible to procreate from that union. They can take over the streets in rallies, change laws, and corrupt the entertainment means by openly showing their message on TV, movies, magazines, internet, etc. without much consideration that children are part of the audience and who can easily be confused.
We value a society that is peaceful, growing, and where human rights are respected. A society that is sustained on private businesses and private investments; that is grown based on meritocracy -which ultimately incentive its people’s development-; and with a democratically-elected government that is continuously checked on its performance and plans. But we let instigators act, sometimes peacefully using democratic processes and ways, and sometimes violently when they hide behind rightful protests; all this to weaken countries and governments with the objective to install authoritarian, destructive, anti-democratic, and despotic systems.
Like the examples above, there are many others values that are under frontal attack. We let our value of self-determination to be undermined by “globalists”. We say we value life -as being the core of our own existence-, but we let groups advocating for abortion to change laws. We value our time -unrecoverable as it is-, but we let bureaucracy and inefficient systems to prevail. And like those, values of faith, justice, loyalty, and others are many times trampled, without us doing an effort to stand up for them.
But why we don’t stand up and defend our values? Why?
Is it because we are afraid… because we feel fear? Well, some of these groups can indeed be aggressive, intolerant, even violent.
Is it because we feel there is no choice but to accept? Well, definitely these groups are becoming larger, louder, and more powerful.
Is it because we are protecting something?
Or is it because we just don’t care?
Whatever the reason, it shows that we have to grow in virtues.
At the end, indifference, cowardice, and lack of will and commitment to fight for our values will convert us not only in hypocrites, but also in accomplices of what we don’t want to prevail. We will be responsible for the destruction of our own values… and that’s a war we cannot lose.

Thanks!
